♣  Enjoy one of Bay Area's hidden gems!

Auri B. 10/9 4:41PM 5

Lake Chabot is truly one of Bay Area's hidden gems, Every time I go to Lake Chabot, I am amazed at the feeling of being somewhere far away from the hustle and bustle!

When you are walking around the lake with the hills all around you, the occasional view of deer grazing on the slopes (you have to observe carefully - especially when they are camouflaged against the brown slopes in summer), the various birds (though they are not as numerous as one would expect), the groves of Bay Trees and other vegetation, all add to a wonderful natural setting,

The picnic area near the entrance & Marina seems to be quite popular and is always lively. You will come across other walkers, some joggers & bikers on the trail (that goes along the edges of this rather large lake - the full loop is 9 miles!). You can also rent boats and enjoy the serenity from the water.

Overall quite serene and scenic! Enjoy this local gem!
