Nature Trivia & Tips

One of the largest birds in North America with a wingspan over 8 feet! You may see them fish cooperatively, moving in a circle to concentrate fish, and then dipping their heads under simultaneously to catch fish. It winters along the coasts, but breeds only inland.

Summary

Join us for a nature walk through Coyote Hills Regional Park.

We'll view the site of an Ohlone Indian village, traverse a bridge through a marsh, and finally climb a hill to view the landscape of the Bay Area.

From our lofty perch, we'll talk about the geologic history of San Francisco Bay and the ancient rock beneath our feet.
